Last January 2, I just thought of lugging my iPod and speakers inside the shower room and bathing to the music, see how relaxing that'll be and hell yeah, I wanna do it again! Everyday! If I have time that is! Hahahaha!

Have you tried this? Ahhhhmaaaazing talaga!!!!

Going back, since there was no relaxing, soothing playlist on my iPod, I had to result to Genius. I made a Genius playlist with Love Moves In Mysterious Ways, and this is what I got...

I hair-conditioned to Beauty and Madness by Fra Lippo Lippi.
I soaped to Freestyle's Before I Let You Go.
I shower-creamed to EBTG's I Didn't Know I Was Looking For Love.
I washed my face to A Little Bit by MYMP.
And I rinsed and towelled to Ewan by Imago and Ulan by Rivermaya.

Ah-ma-zing talaga! I massaged my scalp, soaped, rinse, towelled and tapped my feet to the beat! I was even humming and turning!!! Hahahaha!

Basta, hay naku, TRY IT!!!!!

This was my longest and best bath ever! Will definitely do this again and again and again!

Bestfriend that is. =)

I was part of a barkada of eight. Twas Carcar, Marvin, Michael, Popoy, JP, Kaloy, Jacq and me. Funny thing was they were either siblings or cousins. Ako lang ang hindi kamag-anak. I didn't feel out-of-place. Never.

Jacq was my first bestfriend. Kahit madalas kami mag-away, magsabunutan (yes, you read that right!), I love her so dearly. I will confide secrets to her. I will rush eating my meals just to play with her the soonest. I will pretend to have my siesta and get up with jolt and excitement once the clock strikes 3pm just to rush out the door for much-hungered-for playtime with her. I pulverize anyone who bullies her. I threaten anybody who attempts to pick a fight with her.

And I swear she'd do the same for me. Cross my heart and hope to die. =)

It's nostalgic to remember, all thanks to a note in Facebook that I answered recently. It's one of those notes where you get tagged, change the answers to the numerous questions and then tag friends (again). It had a section on firsts.

For Nii: Lost Without It

Last night, Edison and I watched Fast 5. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! As in!!!!

But all awesomeness was gone when Nii lost his cellphone our our way home, pickpocketed by this lady who we thought was just rushing to overtake us in walking. =(

Nii and I was able to cry on this already. First time kong umiyak over a lost phone. =( (It was my first time to cry over a lost phone) There are still some bits of sadness, disappointment and frustration in me but I know faith will heal them in no time.

It was just tragic to see Edison so sad, so miserable after losing the phone. You were such a heartbreaking sight last night, Nii. No one is to blame. We just have to learn the hard way, I guess.

Nii, even if it seems tough and impossible to see the silver lining in this situation, even if all seem bleak and cold, know that I have the following to be thankful for:

Let me be thankful first, because it was pickpocketed and it was not forcefully taken from you. Second, you lost it without witnessing and was freed from dealing with more frightening emotions if ever you saw it being taken away from you. Third, although it was special and sentimental, it was not much especially your life. Fourth, because it was the phone that was lost, not you, nor me, nor your family, nor your friends, nor your faith. And last, because despite this misfortune, we still can see a flicker of light in this dark hour.

Dark Day

I feel so dark today. Maybe because of the looming frustration and disappointment from yesterday. Maybe not. I don't know. I'm just not my cheery self today. Weird. Oh well.

I'm wearing an all dark outfit and I have pale makeup on. The only cheery-Reich things I have are my hoops and my floral (yet still dark) flats. I feel argh ?!@#!@ today. I hope I get my much needed uplift soon.

Darkness, you are welcome to visit but please do not stay for too long. *sigh*

Ang hirap. Sometimes you expect and get disappointed. Sometimes you give but not receive any at all. I know you would say wag ka kasi mag-expect (you should not expect). Can you not? Really? Honestly? Come on! Even at the faintest level, you do expect somehow. You might also say give and not expect any in return. Same reaction. Can you not? Really? Honestly? Even at the slightest level, you do wait for something, even just a bit, in return.

But after every time I cry because I get disappointed, I always rationalize it with mahal ko eh (I love that person). Lilipas din yan (This shall pass). Aayos din lahat (Everything will be ok).

I'm just trying to vent here. No whatsoever. Only pure venting. Haaaay.

All I know is that whenever I get disappointed or frustrated, I will myself to love. To just love. JUST LOVE.

Everything will fall in place afterwards. **smile**

Ash Wednesday -- the beginning of Lent.

Lent na! Ambilis! It will be Good Friday then Easter in no time!

Since Ash Wednesday is a day of obligation, I compelled myself to hear mass and get myself ashed. I did, in school. Buti na lang may mass.

Went to EDSA Shrine after work to hear mass with Nii. I compelled him to go. Hahaha! He had to go!

Blessed Lenten Season to everyone!

I soooooooo love this scene! Edison and I were both quiet. Ninanamnam namin yung eksena! (We were relishing the moment!) Hahahaha!

I was just a little frustrated at the turn of events at the end. Oh well, I just thought she wouldn't, you know, lose that. (Can't disclose much, might be a spoiler for some.) And parang bitin. (Also, the end's a bit hanging.) Or is it just me? Oh! Don't mind me! I generally enjoyed the film! =) And may I add, Rapunzel is soooo Mandy Moore. I think I've watched way too many Mandy movies to recognize her laugh and tone to match every emotion. Kaaaaaaa! Hahaha!

You surprised me with Twix, Nii! =) It's one of my favorites! =D

Speaking of Twix, you wanna know how to make a GIANT TWIX??? Oh yeah!!!!! Whoa! Such big eyes from excitement!!! =)

Ok! Ok! Here, here....

Ingredients:
- 3 packs/800 grams of tea finger biscuits or any biscuit with same texture
- 1 big pack/800 grams of caramel candies or you can make your own caramel (if you know how)
- 2 big packs/2 kgs of milk chocolate (plain) bars
- 1 bar of butter
- optional golden syrup
- 2 cups of milk
- Twix-shaped pan
- wax paper for your pan

Procedure:
1. Melt 1 kg of chocolate in a pan. Spread it in your Twix-shaped pan, covering all sides.
2. Refrigerate to make it hard.
3. Melt the caramel candies (or make your own caramel). Once melted, make a layer over the refrigerated chocolate.
4. Crush all the biscuits. Mix it with butter to that it will stick together. If the hold is not strong, you can add more butter or golden syrup.
5. Put the biscuit batter on top of the caramel layer.
6. Melt the remaining chocolate. Pour melted chocolate on top of the layer of biscuit, covering it entirely.
7. Refrigerate until chocolate hardens.
8. Take it out from the pan and serve.

VOILA! You will have something like this!

I'm sure almost everybody would have heard, read or watched about the EDSA-Makati bus bombing last Tuesday, 25 January 2011.

For the benefit of those who haven't, read it here, Inquirer Online.

First news team on the scene was from RPN, composed of cameraman Abet Sy, Assistant Cameraman Ruel Sevilla, and news correspondent and my nephew Dale De Vera. They were on their way back to the office when they saw a bus stalled on EDSA Buendia Northbound lane. When they saw that the windows and windshield were cracked, they thought it was a holdup. When they got nearer the scene, they saw smoke, blood and wounded passengers on the sidewalk.

They decided to help out. Thoughts of getting a big break from covering this incident were put aside. They decided to be God's people. They decided to be the heart of the Filipino. They decided to be Pilipino para sa kapwa Pilipino (Filipinos for Filipinos).

Dale, I'm proud of what your team has done. When nobody was courageous, kind and loving enough to help those poor victims, you three were. Lagi mong tatandaan, ang kabutihan ay kadakilaan. (Always remember that kindness is greatness.)

And because of this incident, I am still very very praning (paranoid) when riding the bus, especially when I learned that bus was biyaheng (going to) SM Fairview. Waaaaaaa!

And the name of the driver is Maximo Peligro (maximum peril)?!?!?!? You got to be kidding me! But then again, seriously.

Paranoid pa rin kasi ako when it comes to interpreting actions of others, especially those who are really close to me. I don't care (e-e-e-e-air) too much if it's other people.

I'm a worrywart -- not in the bad, negative sense. I worry if people are safe, I worry if things are ok with family and friends. Counted ba yon? Basta, sabi worry eh, so yes, I worry talaga.

Try it! Do a self-evaluation. =) Nice to know if you're peaceful or not. =) At least you can work out being peaceful if you're like 0% peaceful di ba? Hehehe. =D

Need Not Explain? Need To?

A dear one posted a new status in Facebook.

I hate to explain because people might judge if you don't pick the right words that they want to hear.‌

Since I'm such a fan of his wall, I couldn't help but comment, "For me it depends. =D"

And I was surprised by his answer, "Habang tumatagal ako sa mundong 'to, dalawang sagot na lang ang alam ko. oo at hindi. walang 'ewan', walang 'it depends'."

That got me thinking... Baket ako it depends? Baket sya, with conviction, yes or no lang? Where does the difference lie?

I'm not quite certain that I fully understand why his view is like that. I'm sure, some other time, I'll get to understand it. But at this moment, I can only expound on my take.

If the person seeking explanation is, in my opinion, someone who doesn't pass judgment easily, I will explain fully. If not, I won't explain in detail. Or sometimes, I won't explain at all. Or sometimes, it depends on my mood. Yeeeeah, may ganon. =)

I am careful in choosing my words. I've learned the hard way that in telling something, I need to choose my words really really well. Because, one, they may pass judgment even if they haven't heard the full story yet, two, even if they have heard the full story, they may take it differently, and three, they equate you with your words.

So there, IT DEPENDS. How about you? Share your two cents. =)

Last October 2, 2010, Yuppie Days With The Lord, together with some friends, went to Calawis, Antipolo to hike and plant trees. Ok ok... some stayed at the nursery and squatted for hours to plant wildlings. =)

Both are not menial tasks. Kapagod mga Dong and Day! Kalerrrrrky! Kapuy gid!

I invited friends from the Disciples Choir. Thank you Edison, Miggle, Cassie, Mary, Rose, Jayr, Mel and Chad for accepting the invite. <3

Let's start with our adventure!

Together with the group, Nii and I got ready for the climb.

The climb was -- how do I put it nicely... hmmmmm... challenging.
MAJOR MAJOR CHALLENGING!!!!

The climb was really not a joke. The trail was slippery. It was steep. There were instances that your choices were to fall on barbed wires or to a ravine. Kaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Thanks to Edison's assitance, di ako namatay! Hahaha! To Nii: YOU'RE MY HEROOOOOO!!!! *enter song here* Hahaha! <3

After an hour and a half, which felt like a day (hahaha!), we reached the top!!!!! Woooooot!!!!! Worth all the effort, man! =D It was paradise! Well, not really because it was all talahib, but still, paradiiiiise! =)

Since we're here to plant and not to ogle at the scenery lang, we had to get going.

Nii and I donned on the plastic gloves given by Santa Tracy.

The Cycle Of Love

There really is a cycle. (Wasn't this our topic the other day, Nii?) All you have to do is be patient for it to go around again. No harsh comments, no rushed decisions. Hold on. Continue to love. There's a reason why you've held on for so long. <3

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?

During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, "How do I know if I married the right person?"
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, "It depends. Is that your husband?"
In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?"

Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.

Here's the answer.
EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse/partner. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit) .

Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience.
You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet." Think about the imagery of that __expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.

The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, "Did I marry the right person?"
And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else.
This is when marriages or relationship breakdown. People blame their spouse/partner for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage/relationsh ip for fulfillment.

Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious.
But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, excessive TV, or abusive substances.

But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it.
I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else.
You could.

And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):

THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE/RELATIONSH IP IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to "make" it day in and day out. That's why we have the __expression "the labor of love." Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage/relationsh ip work. Sure true love can only happen after you've fallen out of love. When you begin choosing to love, even if you don't feel like doing it ---- that's true love. And that's the foundation of a lasting and strong marriage.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.

Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships.
Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger.
It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable. .. you can "make"love.

Love is indeed a "decision".. . Not just a feeling. You'll not just go away with your relationship just because the feeling is gone. In the Bible, love is a command. You make it happen.

Perfect girlfriend?

What is a perfect girlfriend? They say there’s no such thing as perfection, and that she doesn’t exist.

She dresses up all cute and pretty every time you take her out on a date. This is her way of keeping you interested as your eyes are locked solely on her. You stare at other girls instead, and she gets hurt and upset that all her time and effort were put to waste. You call her insecure.

She holds on to you like she’s never letting you go. This is her way of telling other girls that she’s lucky that she has you, and no, you’re not available. You call her clingy.

She calls you the sweetest nicknames, or ones that only you two will understand. This is her way of saying how special you are, and that there’s nobody else in this world like you. You call other girls “babe” just as how you would call her, and she gets disappointed. You call her shallow and jealous.

She checks up on you, making sure you made it home safely or that you’re not out getting yourself into any kind of trouble. This is her way of showing how often she thinks about you and that she worries constantly because that’s how much she cares. You say she’s nagging.

She cries when you do or say something wrong. This is her way of saying “That hurt only because YOU said it and I love YOU.” You call her overly sensitive and emotional.

She loves you more than you love her. This is her way of dealing with the fact that your relationship wasn’t like how it used to be, but she is willing to make room for more love and some changes. You push her away. You call her dramatic and annoying.

On to my take on this...

I don't think she's a perfect girlfriend. I'm sure she has flaws. Pero oo nga, when girls act that way, guys take it differently. Bat nga ba ganun? That hurts. =(

I finally had the guts to change my blog template and surrender to web improvement. BIG YEEEY FOR ME!!!! Not! Hahaha!

This is a nice template. Awesome it's called. It is. But but but!!!! I don't know how to manipulate the code! Darnit! Hello... nung college ako wala pang CSS ang webcode. Simpleng HTML lang yun. Hahaha.

I'm reading up on CSS but my brain's not accepting information now. It's not cooperating with me! I think the zombies ate my brainzzzz! Werrrrrrr!

OC that I am, before I changed the template I took screenshots of the old one, took time to see which elements I still want to retain. To my surprise, I still want all! Even that crappy shoutbox that nobody writes in anymore! (Yeah, ehem! Shout out to all of you! Haha!)

Wait, wait, don't get your hopes up just yet. Still no acidity test if that's what you're expecting. Sorry nameeeeeerrrrrnnn... Haha! Still have noooo idea how to do it! Mea culpa!

But here's something interesting!

Remember when I mentioned that the Ketchup packets are numbered 1 to 9? Guess what!!!!!

THERE'S A NO. 10!!!!!!!!

Whoooooaaaa!!!! Haha! I kept the packet for the acidity test. Hahaha!

I tried asking a crew member from McDonald's West Fairview if she knows what's the number for. And yes, as expected, hindi nya alam. Hahaha! Oh well, next time I ask, I'll record it on video! Kasama na si Manager!

Of 3D Movies and Italian Overload

Edison and I went to Trinoma yesterday to watch The Last Air Bender in 3D.

That morning, I texted him to ask whether he wants to watch it in 3D or not. He asked what's the difference. I said, "Uhmmm yung isa 3D, yung isa hindi." Bwahahaha! What else right????? Hahaha! Anyhoo, I felt na masasapak nya ko sa sagot ko so I added the difference in showtimes, ticket price and a probable difference in our dinner schedule too.

After much exchange of kaloka-yang-sagot-mo-nii texts, he said he preferred 3D.

I just knew the reason behind him asking what's the difference between 3D and not was when we were already inside the moviehouse. IT'S HIS FIRST TIME TO WATCH 3D!!! And what great pleasure it is to bring him to watch one!!!!! Yiiiiiiiii! Kaya naman pala ganun tanong mo, Nii... Hahaha! Sorry naman. I didn't know. Sorry namerrrrn. Haha!

Edison the Excited

Edison the Excited??? Hahaha! Ampanget ng monicker ko sa yo! Hahahaha! Uhmmm... Edison the Ecstatic??? AH I KNOW NAAAAA!!!!! EDISON THE EXPLORER!!! Veeeeeery gooooood!!!!! Muy bien! Hahaha!

After the movie, we had dinner in Sbarro because he was craving for Italian food.

Ayos, Nii, wagas ang appetite -- Meat Lasagna and Chicago Deep Dish! Hehe!

Much kwentuhan, tawanan and... and... yes, more tawanan...

Takaw mata kasi eh! Na-excite sa food??? Hahaha!

I can't help eat it anymore kasi yung food nasa throat ko na ayaw na bumaba sa sobrang kabusugan! Hahaha! And the most sensible thing to do with an almost-untouched lasagna? Have it wrapped for takeout. Tamaaaaa!

This was fuuuuun! Nii, to our next 3D movie and food overload!

Pwede bang desserts overload na lang next time??? Hahaha!

Verdict On McDonald's Ketchup

This all started with Boo's Facebook album, The Tale of the 5 Ketchups and The Legend of Ketchup Nr. 8. Hahaha! Parang Are You Afraid of the Dark lang ang title! Hahaha!

Legend says (hahaha!) that there are 9 varieties of ketchup served in McDonald's. (In Wendy's too I think, but that's another story.) Going back, 9 varieties of ketchup --- Ketchup packets are numbered 1 to 9 at the lower left corner. It is said that it's for different taste buds, how sour you want your ketchup. I am not sure if Ketchup 1 is the mildest and Ketchup 9 is the most sour or it's the other way around...

Intrigued much, I had to do my own investigation!

The judge? Nah, not me... EDISON! Hahaha!

So to kick it off, I had to sort the packets we got from McDonald's.

We only got 6 varieties. Ketchups 3, 4, 5, and Ketchups 7, 8, 9.

Since it was I who's setting up the investigation, OC-ness took over. Haha!

Hahaha! So uhmmmm... di ko tuloy sure if the ketchups really taste the same or not... Hahaha. But as of this tasting investigation is concerned, THEY'RE ALL THE SAME!!!

I might go into the acidity test just to take it a notch higher... pero sa susunod na yon! Super effort yun eh. I won't close this case yet. Hahaha!

Woooow. How Long Has It Been?

And yes, still with the same question... HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN -- SINCE I LAST WROTE HERE??? Na-miss ko 'to grabe. Many many many maaaaany things happened from my last blog post. Super happy, super sad, super elating, super depressing.

I now have the time to write again. Don't ask. I'm just glad I have the time to be here again.

Dear Blog, how can I forget that you take stress away? That you preserve happy thoughts for me? I guess I was just swallowed whole by the crazy whirl of events that I forgot about how good it is to write here. To share things with you. To share it to the world. I'm bad, huh? Sorry. Really sorry. Truthfully, I'm really happy I'm back to writing here. I'm back to sharing my life to you... to the world.

You know what I'm going through now. You know I need you more than ever. You know I need HIM more than anything else. Wooow. Woooow talaga yung mga nangyari this week. Wow lang talaga. Still speechless. Still in shock.

In spite of the tremors, I received so many words of encouragement from random people. Amazing. Amazing how He works His magic. And I mean --- AMAAAAAZING.

Books Galore, Boys Galore

Not quite the book galore I wanted but I got four paperbacks yesterday. :-) Happiness.

I got boys! I bought Percy and John!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 1, 3 and 4. I know, kulang pa... still scouting... Also looking for the boxed set of Percy.

Bought Dear John too. Finally! My own copy! :-)

I was on summer offset yesterday. Markie and I met to watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. (Yes, that IS the complete title. Haha!)

Thanks to MPass we got goooood seats! :-)

I SOOO ENJOYED IT!!! IT WAS GOOD! The special effects were great! :-) And since we're both geeks, major review kami ng Greek mythology... major mention pa ng Roman counterparts. Haha!

But the funnest and funniest part was the Cold Rock encounter. The guy attendant was just waaaaay too ma-chika for me to handle! :-))

I got Ferrero with Reese and Markie got Cheesecake with Boysenberry (Lasang pintura, dude? Hahaha!)

I expressed na sana pwedeng ibang flavors for their ice cream sandwich and he said, without much truth and sorrow in his voice, "I wish I could do something about it!" BWAHAHAHA!!!! Nanahimik na lang ako baka kung ano pa masabi ko! Hahaha!

Oh and yes, there's another fun part! During the movie when Percy used water to douse the multi-headed dragon but spared the pearl from being wet, I whispered to Markie, "Grabe! God-godan talaga!" And he burst out laughing and repeatedly said, "God-godan talaga!" BWAHAHA! Ang kulet mo, pare!

Oh well, we may be the only ones who can relate to the anecdote but these really made us laughing off our seats! :-))

And not to mention, we got a kick from our Fortune Cookie!

Jap Trip

Mike and I had another food trip. Still Jap though. Haha! We tried out Rai Rai Ken.

We both loved what we ordered -- Crunchy Salmon Roll and Garlic Chili Ramen. :-)

My vote: 3.5 stars. (Meaning ok lang na hindi kumain dito, ok lang din na kumain dito. Haha!)

Where's our next stop, Mike? MISATO naman ulit tayo! Miss ko na yun! :-D
